First Impressions
So for convenience I ordered this from CPC Farnell, I have had a few pieces from them and found the price here to be competitive and free delivery was included.
It arrived in a well packed outer, dispatched on the Monday and arrived on the Tuesday.
The product was in a DeWalt cardboard box and already gave me the impression that it was going to larger than the previous one.
This is what they call the 'Naked' edition, which normally means no batteries and no case, however this one came with a sturdy looking carry bag. The lack of batteries is fine with me as I have plenty of batteries with my other kit.
In addition to the 'stick vac' there are a number of attachments. Consisting of;
The Why!
If you have read my review of the DWH161N Dust Extractor, you will know I was less than impressed but at the end of the review I said I would get this Stick Vac and give it a go.
For those that haven't had the opportunity to read that review here's a bit of background. I was previously using a Dyson Handheld hoover that I had picked up after I decided that dragging my Henry Vacuum Cleaner out of the van was getting a drag and wanted something more handy especially if I was only drilling a couple of holes.
The Dyson had been great but the battery was playing up so I decided I needed a replacement and a perhaps something that looked a little more professional.
I already had DeWalt kit so had batteries available and was already happy with the brand.
I looked online and at DeWalt's own site and decided the DWH161N Dust Extractor was the one for me. However if you've read the review, you will know this didn't go down well.
My primary use is to catch dust when I am drilling holes and from what I have seen so far this is going to do the job brilliantly. It has far more suction than the previous dust extractor I had.
The flexible hose is still too narrow the Universal Adaptor so will have to use the stepped adaptor from my previous vac to connect it to the hose.
As I said, it's early days so will keep you updated with how its going.
So far so good, this is going to make life so much easier than dragging my Henry out for smaller jobs.
